Please contact your local branch to inquire about any volunteer opportunities.

Why volunteer?

  • The system could not offer the caliber of services currently provided to so many patrons without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.

  • Our volunteers bring with them a sense of commitment, dependability, flexibility and an appreciation of the library as a valuable community entity.

  • Meet new people and make friends

Volusia Reads Online Book Club

Volusia County Public Library has partnered with PBC Guru and Freading to create a virtual book club for patrons and the community.

The book for March - May is When The Moon Is Low by Nadia Hashmimi.

Mahmoud's passion for his wife Fereiba, a schoolteacher, is greater than any love she's ever known. But their happy, middle-class world--a life of education, work, and comfort--implodes when their country is engulfed in war, and the Taliban rises to power.

It is always available for download from Freading.
