The “Big Red Bus” Bloodmobile

Wednesday, October 22, 2014
at 11 am to 4 pm at the Deltona Library

OneBlood’s “Big Red Bus” will be stationed in the parking lot of the Deltona Regional Library & LEC complex. Blood donations are open to the public; incentives may be available while supplies last. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are strongly encouraged and can be made by visiting and clicking on “where to donate.”

Trick or Treat Parkinson’s Roundtable Discussion

Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 2 pm at the Daytona Beach Library

The Parkinson’s Association of Greater Daytona Beach will host a “Trick or Treat” Roundtable Discussion Come learn the “Tricks” of living a good life while dealing with the challenges of Parkinson’s and enjoy the “Treats” provided by Hersey’s Ice Cream of Ormond Beach.

Tail-gating Party! (children's program)

Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 3 pm at the DeBary Library

Do you like baseball and football? Elementary aged children (K-5th grade) are invited to visit the library to hear some stories about both sports and do some of the exercise activities that the players do. After the workout there will be a light, healthy snack. Co-sponsored by the DeBary Library Association. No registration is required.

October Book-and-a-Movie

Movie:  Friday, October 24, 2014 at dusk in Riverfront Park on City Island.
In case of rain, the movie will be shown the following day at the same location and time.

at the Cinematique Theater, 242 S. Beach Street, Daytona Beach.

The Daytona Beach Library’s book-and-a-movie series will take a look at “Bullitt” on October 24, starring Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, and Jacqueline Bisset. McQueen stars as an all guts, no glory San Francisco cop who becomes determined to find the underworld kingpin that killed the witness in his protection during a controversial court case.

The book discussion tie-in to the movie is “Stuntman!” by author Hal Needham, an autobiography of Needham’s career as a Hollywood actor and stunt performer.
