Elephant Search in the Park

Five elephants are hiding in City Center Park in Port Orange! Visit the park July 1-31, search up high for the herd of elephants, and let us know the names of each you find on the online form.

Each person that fills out the form will be entered into a raffle for a fun prize (1 entry per person).
When you visit the Port Orange Regional Library, let us know you played to receive a pencil and sticker reward.
This program is for families of children 5th grade and under.

Our newest resource pairs fiction and nonfiction eBooks for children (PreK through Grade 3).

Animated classic storybooks introduce early learners to the delights of reading while sparking curiosity, creating a natural springboard into the paired nonfiction text for deeper discovery.

Storytime @ the Museum

Storytime @ the Museum is an interactive literacy program designed for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers visiting the museum.

Children and caregivers are introduced to a wide variety of introductory literacy skills through stories, rhymes, and some motor activities; in a fun, learning environment.

Themes are specifically designed to be relatable to exhibits that may be within the museum.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten™ Program

1000 Books Before Kindergarten™ is a self-paced, early literacy program for children ages 0-6 designed to increase vocabulary, build reading confidence and promote pre-reading skills necessary for kindergarten. Register and track your reading online or by visiting any Volusia County Public Library branch. Click here to enroll.

Lit Kits include library books, activities, and other educational materials. Kits will be filled and picked up on a weekly basis (or less frequently, depending on patron preference).

Miss Humblebee's Academy

Miss Humblebee's Academy is an interactive kindergarten-readiness program that introduces children ages three to six to key concepts in math, science, social studies, language and literacy, art, and music. It's as challenging as it is fun! For ages 3-6.

World Book Early Learning

World Book Early Learning is designed for preschool students. This database reinforces early childhood curriculum via short videos, read-aloud stories, printable activities, and matching and tracing games, among others. The guided reading program, lesson plans, and curriculum correlations make teaching easier for educators and parents. Volusia County Public Library card required for remote access.
